Selim Küçükkaya studied Political Science at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg (BA 2019) and Duke University (year abroad). During his bachelor’s degree, he developed an initial interest in sustainable transformation processes at the local level, which he pursued further with the Erasmus Mundus Master’s program “Urban Studies” (MSc 2024). The international study program included study periods in Brussels, Vienna, Copenhagen and Madrid and provided a thorough introduction to urban research from a social science perspective. His current research interest lies in the political dynamics that shape the structure of Western European cities – especially in the context of the current climate crisis.
