Joint Inaugural lectures by Sandra Eckert and Maria Rentetzi

On May 25 Prof. Sandra Eckert (Chair in Comparative Politics) and Prof. Maria Rentetzi (Chair of Science, Technology and Gender Studies) held their inaugural lectures in the Orangerie in Erlangen. In his welcome speech Dean Rainer Trinczek gave an overview of the career path and the academic achievements of the two professors. In her talk Sandra Eckert addressed the challenges the European Unioin is currently facing in the context of politicisation, green transformation and geopoliticisation. Maria Rentetzi explained how adopting a gender perspective allows for new insights regarding nuclear research. Throughout the programme a brass ensemble entertained the guests who were invited to a reception afterwards.
